Been woken up in the Holiday Inn by a steady stream of departures. Forgot how busy this aerodrome is. No BAC 1-11s or the odd Comet though, like those good old days on this side of the runway.
I was struck by a pretty full ramp around the old Eurohub. How many based aircraft do we have...
Not flying from BHX, but staying overnight at the BHX Holiday Inn this Friday. I grew up in Elmdon and always admired the wonderful Art deco, but never stayed there. Hopefully a half decent view of a multi storey car park of the backend of a rusting corrugated roof!
Safe journey BrumX. I assume that the digbeth clean up crews will be okay in your absence - if you have not already check out their efforts on the Greater Birmingham thread....
Looking at the first photo, to the right of the squeasyjet left wing, and off topic, but I never understood why when...
UK Central should be the name. The centre of the UK....
....yes I know, before anyone says, 'its not the centre of the UK. Soligbury in Derbyshire or Yorkshire or Northumberland or South Scotland is....'

Xabia area has great food and beaches. Some spectacular scenery. Too many turn off from Alicante airport at Benidorm and Calpe but worth to keep going. I stayed at Platya de L'Arenal. Nice beach and plenty of decent bars. Could not find a British or Irish pub or fish and chip shop which is...
When I saw Pakistan International Airlines I thought "uh-oh flights suspended due to not wanting to fly over Pakistan", but then geography and politics stepped in.
Would be good to see. Never heard of the place. When I looked it up in Wikipedia I misspelt the plsce and ended up reading about a...
Costa Blanca is booming again. Unbelievably spurred on the the TV show Benidorm. Have to say I thought the coastal parts of the Blanca (Benidorm (ghastly in all respects) apart) are nicer than the Del Sol, but the Andalusia hinterland of the Del Sol knocks spots of the Blanca hinterland...
Totally bonkers. Ryanair said that GLA cannot "bear the burden". Maybe EDI can. But I suspect two bases close together...close one...expand the other...upset the customers...cherish the cost savings.
Not bad. Brussels for £89.00 standard fare by Brussels Airline and 141 by BMI. So cheaper and a cheaper alternative to get to Brussels. Given that Rotterdam is no longer served maybe this is a smart move by VLM to tap into three major Belgian-Dutch cities.
Of course flying to Antwerp does deny...
Part of UK Hub Central. Will act as the catalyst for connectivity between HS2, Birmingham International, the airport and NEC. Will provide the most connected and integrated strategic and local transport interchange in the UK if not Europe. Game changer and credit to all involved.
