Manchester: Aircraft Movements, Flight Logs & Daily Heads Up

Use this prefix for new threads for Manchester Airport
I don't know whether you remember me as it seems to have been an age since I last posted a daily log for Manchester!
Firstly my thanks to #Aviador for his help in providing a means by which I could start to work on finding a means to gather the data from the new FR24 website. Also my thanks to a neighbour for giving me her time to enable me to fine-tune how to use Co-Pilot.
Previously it use to take me an hour a day to produce a day's log, but today it took me 3 hours. Let me see how it goes over the next week whilst I do some fine tuning as I can not afford to spend 3 hours every day - whilst doing numerous jobs around the house in order to keep my wife happy!! (Only joking).
Anyway, here is the log for yesterday (23rd October) and please do let me know if you would like me to continue the log records.

Well I personally find this information interesting but I think 3 hours daily is far too long a time to use up to produce it, presumably all the while wrestling with the new pigswill FR24 layout (which seems to be aimed at 7 year olds).
I would welcome a continuation but not at the cost of 3 hours of your time every day.

Well it's got a little easier today - just around the 2 hour time - so I'll see what it's like by the weekend. One of the problems I've discovered is finding the arrival of inbound diverted flights and then getting them onto the new spreadsheet. Still, as I say, time will tell and, if I can get it down to a manageable time then I will restart from 1st November.

Fingers crossed.

Well I once again got the processing down to 2 hours which, allowing for the number of cancellations and diversions was not too bad. I will still need to do some fine tuning, but it's getting there.

Well it looks as if I might have tweaked things enough to restart my regular posts for movement logs from 1st November. I'm taking a few days off but will use the time to check that I've got the time taken for a day's log to around 90 minutes. Fingers crossed that the next log will be on Monday 2nd November for 1st November movements.

Ahead of my restarting daily logs for flights 1st November, I noticed that yesterday (Friday 30th October) KLM used German Airways E190 D-ACJJ on KL1029/KL1030.

I don't recall KLM often having to bring in an aircraft from another carrier.

Heads Up!

Flying is the second greatest thrill known to man.... Landing is the first!
i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
