It's always interesting to read the comments on WalesOnline Facebook posts. For the most part the comments are positive. Lack of city destinations gets mentioned a bit and there is anti CWL comments. Overall it does seem that the view for many is a positive one of Cardiff Airport...

Well the population of Ontario is 16 million with 6 million living in the Greater Toronto Area but also Westjet network allows connections from other parts of Canada. A woman on my flight was heading to Vancouver another couple to Ottawa though they actually drove from Ottawa rather than fly.
Info about the WestJet route from a Cardiff Airport Facebook post
17,500 passengers used the route
28% were UK nationals
59% were Canadian
13% other nationalities
Top onward connections were Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton
Furthest was St Maarten
Busiest date was 1st August and busiest days...
I would also add it's potential good pr for the airport as well that helps raise awareness of the airport itself. The press and influencers etc get much more involved when it's something like a long-haul route or a prestigious airline like say Air France than if TUI or Ryanair add Alicante.

They've added Cork as well. Flights on the 19th and 21st February 2027.
So it looks like at the moment Ryanair will operate an extra 14 departures for the Six Nations from Cardiff
Cork 2 departures (19/2 & 21/2/27)
Dublin 10 departures (15 in total) (18/2-22/2/27)
Rome 2 departures (12/3 &...
Highlights from my flight with WestJet to Toronto today.
Overall the flight was a good one. Seats were comfortable and I was lucky to get extra legroom seats when I paid for standard seats. Service wise WestJet seem to do the minimum. The meal was small but the cottage pie was tasty. Pre landing...
