Nice post Land23R
I see some enthusiasts bemoan the lack of variety at MAN compared to the 'good old days', which to some extent is true, but I feel that the variety now is just as good (we have Cathay back, still have AA, still have SQ and so on so forth), but the destination choice is the...
Oh don't get me wrong, it wasn't a post about MAN asking for money, it's just shocking at how much some projects command find wise.
Imagine what MAN could look like with £8bn behind it!
Just seen how big the London > rest of UK spending gap is!
This airport redevelopment will be costing £1bn. Battersea power station is being redeveloped into 3,400 apartments at a cost of £8bn! And don't forget, they will still make a profit after resale on that!
The whole USPC process would likely be all in the pier, as the whole process needs to be in a segregated area.
The more I look at the external renders, the more I realise that the 'missing' pier is likely to be the USPC pier. If you look (and appriciate this may be an illusion of sorts), you...
When one of the biggest complaints on social media and review sites at the moment is immigration, with 1-2 hour waits at most times of the day now being reported, we know there is an issue.
UKBF seem to stubbornly refuse to add more staff in its current format, then what say so would MAN have...
After Aer Lingus went down to 5 daily this summer, looks like it's back up to 6/7 daily next summer.
Although not bookable on Aer Lingus site yet, Amadeus shows the following departure times ex-MAN:
0805 daily (Aer Lingus Mainline)
1125 daily (Aer Lingus regional)
1320 daily (Aer Lingus...
I don't know about 'building for the future', but turning part of the taxiway at Juliet/Mike (next to the Airport pub) into a temporary car park is one of the stupidest ideas MAG has had to date...
Ok, so, I've had all day to view the videos, look at the images and read what's being proposed? Now, this post is going to be a culmination of what's new and what we have known about for a long time, some of it may seem unrealistic but these are my thoughts and wanted to share.
Firstly, and...
Whilst it was clear it wasn't going to happen, and was a flawed idea anyway, PIA have now officially shelved plans to serve New York via Leipzig, instead opting to remain at Manchester.
Clear it was going to happen once the corrupt CEO from Germany got the boot.
The AA flights don't impede on Ryanair expansion anyway, first wave is usually gone by the time the 3 AA flights start arriving"
What would help T3 is if KLM/Air France move over to another terminal. That would free up 2 overnight gates, and those 2 carriers have no requirement to be in T3...
Would assume the cranes would be on the left, between the pier and the 'haul road'. This would prevent perimeter infringements to the right of the pier, as last thing you want is cranes overhanging live taxiways etc.
The image is supposed to show the route for construction traffic during the piers construction, hence the mash up.
Only shared as thought it was good to show the scale.
I believe that while it will eventually become a MSCP, the structure above the pier is the construction compound.
Construction of the new finger pier over the current staff west begins 26th June, the main T2 extension will be 3rd July.
I have lots of info including lots of pictures but currently confidential and embargoed so will post when I'm allowed.
I created this thread to specifically follow the T2 redevelopment given the magnitude of the project.
The normal 'infrastructure and development' threads can then be used for everyday changes such as new shops in the other terminals, transport outside of the T2/HS2 projects and any other bits...
