A rather fancy stock of portacabins is being constructed over by the cargo sheds towards staff west. They seem to have floor to ceiling Windows and looks a lot neater than bog standard workers cabins. Look to be where the project managers will oversee the operation.
Area 7 next to T2 closes to...
Looks like Austrian are in the process of switching the OS2577/2578 INN-MAN-INN from pure charters to scheduled services.
The flight has now started appearing in GDS (to which it previously hasn't) and also gains a 2nd weekly flight on Sunday's. It doesn't appear on Austrians website yet...
Went past the airport today to pick someone up, so couldn't get the pics as promised (may do this in the next week though, as dropping same person off again).
I could see the far stands next to staff west have indeed been closed, and the fencing panels were in situ ready to be put in place...
The light grey pier is the USPBC pier so needs confirmation on that first. It will get built either way, but it just depends whether that is with, or without USPBC.
Etihad will use the B787 on the EY21/22 from 24th-31st May, instead of A340-600
This means EY21/22 sees:
A330-200 until 20th May
A340-600 21-23 May
B787-9 24-31 May
A330-200 1-12 June
B777-300 13 June onwards.
Quite the mix!
I'll try and get some photos next month, as that's when the first big stage of works should be more clear with the new corndend off site around the apron and such.
Work is well progressed on 'enterprise way', the main link road for airport city. I did see an aerial shot somewhere, will have to...
Etihad look to be getting rid of CEO James Hogan.
Potentially bad news for MAN, as it's rumoured a big roll back of EU business, and James was one of the main drivers for the investment at Manchester.
The call centre could potentially be at risk, as could things like the Etihad naming rights...
I think package one is about half way through 2019 due to the complexities of keeping the airport fully operation.
The first things you should see are the car park right next to T2 just to the north will be emptied and groundwork/piling beginning.
Then very shortly after, the staff west car...
As for USPC, here is why it's still important.
US global entry is not as straight forward as its being made out.
-There are only 3-5 booths at most airports, with little appitite to increase those numbers from what I am hearing. That coupled with the fact there will be some 'slow' users, if I...
EGCC,
I expected steel and glass, and I did expect basic design (when I say basic, I mean we were not going to get a Seoul Incheon, TBIT or heck, even a San Jose (CA).
But what I did want was a little bit more 'integration' and 'sculpture'.
What I mean by that was, at the very start of the...
At the moment, it's still very much in the planning stage for the pier to be de-segregated after USPC finishes for the day, as doing so means the area has to be security swept each morning to be handed back to the US as 'their land'.
So, they need to work out how to do this without major...
Norwegian will be in competition with Thomas Cook.
TCX are already offering TATL to the price concours. DY say flights will be from £135, but in reality, on a B737, those fares will be few and far between, so likely to be more around the £250 mark.
TCX already offer seats around that price...
It's just going to be a wait and see.
Unfortunately it's a Schrödinger's cat type scenario. Could be the best thing to happen to Manchester since TCX changed tact, or it could be an unmitigating disaster. But unfortunately. We won't know until whatever happens, happens.
All we know is, after...
