Media portray Leeds Bradford airport unfairly.

Interesting to see him looking smug tonight - Tw*t!!

Media portray Leeds Bradford airport unfairly.

Totally agree, we are all acutely aware of LBA's limitations but it's more the style of reporting and the way it was said that irked me. It's clear that there is an agenda with the Look North producers!

Media portray Leeds Bradford airport unfairly.

Look North at it again tonight "This airport seems to suffer when the weather closes in.. blah, blah, blah" Seriously, this absolute shower can't help themselves - I absolutely hate them, the anti LBA sentiment is staggering!!!!

Leeds Bradford: Airport Application To Amend Night Flying Quota Methodology

Not a problem - me and my missus will be on our tandem with suitcase panniers!!!

Leeds Bradford: Airport Application To Amend Night Flying Quota Methodology

The Look North article on the Internet intimates that he actually moved there 30 years ago. Still that was in 1996 - and as you say WH, 1994 was when the airport secured night flying. So gentleman who likes sleeping with windows open moves to the end of the runway of the airport serving one of...

Leeds Bradford: Airport Application To Amend Night Flying Quota Methodology

Why didn't Stokes ask the geezer in the newish looking house (who liked sleeping with his window open!) when he moved into that property - what a kn*b!!

Media portray Leeds Bradford airport unfairly.

Interesting to see that the YEP on the Internet are asking readers to list their top destinations that they'd love to see served from LBA. This from the same rag that enjoys giving plenty of publicity to a bunch of lunatics who'd love to see the airport gone!!!

Leeds Bradford: Passenger Reviews, Q&A, and Travel Advice

Flew LBA-FNC last Sunday and returned yesterday. Only issue was Jet2 check in area, much busier than normal and seemed to have a problem with the baggage conveyer belts as we had to leave our cases to be dealt with manually. Got through security relatively quickly which I thought was great...

Leeds Bradford: Airport Application To Amend Night Flying Quota Methodology

I've just received an email from the airport asking for my support. Currently on holiday but will add my two pence worth when I return on Sunday, I'll get my wife and daughter to do likewise.

LBA Master Plan - Vision to 2030

I agree, I was talking more about the VCR which I believe has a couple of look alikes in the Caribbean! New taller base over on the Southside with that cab on top and I'm happy! 😊 Actually, I always thought that the fire station should be over there with easier access to the runway!

LBA Master Plan - Vision to 2030

I'm with you Aviador - I personally think our tower is iconic and holds lots of memories as a young spotter, including a tour by the legendary Stan Haddock!

LBA Master Plan - Vision to 2030

Looks great! 3 Aer Lingus aircraft - is that for DUB, BHD plus BFS? 😉

Leeds Bradford: EasyJet Flights, New Routes & Schedule Updates

Surely LBA has a big enough catchment area to sustain significant operations from at least 3 major players. Monarch had 2 based aircraft and my understanding is that loads were healthy! I've heard too many DSA rumours re EZY for there to be "no smoke without fire" - if that's the case, good...

Leeds Bradford: Passenger Reviews, Q&A, and Travel Advice

Thanks for that Aviador. Travelling to Madeira in a few weeks. Sadly, I'm led to believe the new CZS won't be open by then but hoping that the new duty free area will be finished. I flew to Naples in April, ashamed to say it was from the airport over the hill with TUI. I also experienced the...

Leeds Bradford: EasyJet Flights, New Routes & Schedule Updates

Concerned in what way? A bit of a broad statement from where I'm sitting! Given you're saying it's specific to LBA and loads on certain routes are reasonably healthy/heading in that direction, as highlighted in this thread, is it more to do with operational/infrastructure concerns or...

Leeds Bradford: Airport Application To Amend Night Flying Quota Methodology

Remember, it's LBA you're talking about. I doubt there is any other airport in the UK that has had as many hurdles to over come in it's lifetime! Multi-Quote Quote

    Leeds Bradford: Aviation Nostalgia Thread

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the first Concorde flight into and out of LBA. An Air France aircraft graced our concrete with its presence on Sat 2nd August 1986. It was very........ Windy! In true LBA fashion and the landing looked a little bumpy!

Leeds Bradford: Jet2 Flights, New Routes & Base Updates

Isn't Funchal the same? I know it's a "Captain Only" airport, would that imply special training as well? It's a Jet2 weekly destination, travelled every year from LBA for past 5 years and going again in September. 3 or 4 of the flights have had 2 Captains flying the route.

Leeds Bradford: £100m Regeneration Programme REGEN

I really am unsure why there is so much negativity. The extension is an infinitely better experience. Everyone I know who uses LBA says so. The airport really is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't in respect of shopping/customer experience. I might have agreed about the duty free shop...
