Quite disappointing particularly when even Exeter has picked up Porto. At least Modlin continues for next summer. Although in previous year several new routes just follow in EasyJet’s footsteps so was half expecting to see Montpellier or Bourgas announced!
Nothing on sale. Sean M posted something earlier stating their S27 UK routes and BRS isn’t listed. I think they’ve been down to 3 or so flights a week recently? Demand has fallen away for Antalya/Dalaman so not a massive surprise bearing in mind existing EasyJet, Jet 2 and TUI capacity on those...
Many thanks for the update as always.
Seems a big decline for AMS. Not sure why exactly. TFS/ACE drops down to no TUI during the summer months. Hopefully August and Sept will tip the year over the 11 million mark although I wonder if some of the runway/national ATC equipment related issues...
They did the exact same thing this Jan and there was no decline in pax numbers on the same month the year before. This is standard practice amongst airlines as January is the quietest month of the year by some distance. I can’t see a large queue of punters for Palma or Bilbao in the height of...
There haven’t been any A319s based at BRS for a couple of years so it’ll be replacing an A320.
I suspect this was actually the arrival of 20+1 spare as there have been 20 based EZY deps every morning since early July.
Despite quite a lot of reduction this Jan, it was still a record Jan for pax numbers so clearly some over capacity before. Same for Feb and March although a pretty reasonable schedule kicks back in by Feb HT.
The Jan, Feb and March pax figures were all records for those months this year so maybe actually the reduction in some frequencies is much more representative of demand.
No great surprise about Antalya for the winter. I think even in May, it was 20% down on last year so demand is definitely...
Whilst we await Scottie Dog’s comprehensive breakdown, the May figures are out and BRS posted a modest 4% growth year on year for May at 1,077,861 pax. Movements also up slightly at 7,691.
What evidence is there that Pisa is a marginal route? The route sees the A321 a bit these days so can’t be that marginal. I can think of others that might be a lot more marginal than those examples.
Given EZY have put a 20th a/c in this year you’d like to think the base is doing pretty well on...
Looks like the 20th a/c is in operation with 20 arrivals tonight and 20 based deps tomorrow morning.
Also noticed they used a NCL based frame today and yesterday to operate a W in and out. Yesterday was NCL-BRS-FAO-BRS-NCL and today was the same with FCO in place of FAO.
Ok fair enough! The Isle of Man has always been summer seasonal. I believe Venice was 2 weekly last winter. You’d think Cape Verde would be attractive for winter sun.
