I think you're right. I seem to remember that was its origin probably about 30 years ago now. It was never used. For the last 10 years it's been open to the elements, should have been removed years ago!
Any modification of the ILS system will have nothing to do with the glide path. The localiser signal can be affected by movements on the edges of its coverage (ie those stands). But I've yet to see any definite info that anything will change. The ILS is already the industry standard and while...
My experience of the A2 is that their is plenty of use between Greengates and Yeadon, especially at school time but not many passengers go all the way to the airport. Same going towards Bradford. Only a handful get on at LBA inc. some staff but the route gets busier further along.
A quick search shows me that a cheeseburger (and fries) at Hawthorne Farm is a little under £10. About half the price of the Montys offering. I doubt the latter is twice as good!
Just seen an ad (facebook) for the new Montys eatery at LBA. Cheeseburger at £18! So another rip off outlet that I won't be spending at the next time I travel thru.
Just turn off comments on your post. That way your post can be read and you just hope it persuades some to vice their support. No need to keep replying to idiots.
Voicing opposition on FB is not the same as formally opposing on the planning portal. Even if he does write an objection, I guess it will be ignored as it's hardly a sensible viewpoint. Just because there are more comments in favour or against doesn't really mean anything. I bet lots of comments...
Could someone put a post on the Facebook Leeds Bradford Spotter group?(I'm not a member and don't want to be) It has 45k members, surely some of them will be willing to write their support.
I believe South side is not viable due to the layout of the land. If you look at the aerials at the receiver site, they are pretty much right on the limit height wise whilst keeping a clear slope area nessacary each side of the runway, and from that height you can't see both ends. But cameras...
And yet it works! London City no longer has a tower. All cameras with augmented views and controllers sat at Swanwick. Overlapping cameras allows redundancy for failures. Wiper/cleaner systems take care of rain and there are 3 independent data routes.
No need for a tower at all. Multiple cameras and a vritual tower which can be anywhere. reckon it would be cheaper than a traditional tower which has to cater for people (rest rooms, toilets etc) Put up a main lattice structure somewhere with cameras and the extra camers to infill any blind...
Irrelevant to the price of coffee at an airport! I also bought a latte at Starbucks on the way back at Tenerife, price was €5.05 so about £4.30. My opinion is not changed, LBA prices are a rip off.
Travelled from LBA to TFS this morning (why do I have to travel at 6AM and get to Tenerife before the hotels are ready, why can't I travel at, say, 10AM. Much more civilised!). Security was a breeze at 4AM I think there were 2 lanes open but even so I passed through in less than 15 minutes. I...
Partially true. Sure, thats how it works on the highway. But on airport land it's managed by a private contract company. eg, the double reds near the pass office and security gate are on airport land, not council. As is the approach to the drop off car parks etc.
A quick look at the last accounts (companies house) shows car parking income is not detailed.
It does however show that the highest paid director ( I presume the CEO) received a pay increase which almost doubled their income (pay and benefits) from £299,000 to £542,000! So it's hard to swallow...
