Not at the moment no, but I am sure LBA S26 was released later last year than some other routes, not being released for sale until mid Nov 25 so let's hope it's not another airline and route we are losing. There is talk on the Dff that GR will op with 5x ATRs in 27 with 1 spare but don't know if...
Decent length sector too - certainly longer than BCN-LBA. As has been said - no competition. Be interesting to see how much marketing they are doing though?
So easyJet launched 18 new routes yesterday which of course no longer has any bearing on LBA. And before anyone asks, yes I am bitter about this because I know I keep going on about them at LBA, but in my view they have well and truly shafted LBA and without promoting things better which could...
The number of potential different airport strike threats we get news of at work seem to end up causing very little disruption in the grand scheme of things so I tend to believe LBA rather than the usual bad press the airport tends to suffer at any given opportunity
If only easyJet had done similar!
Saw a KLM ad on the telly too last night. Makes sense with E295s in abundance now. At least they don't seem to be missing the opportunity and can clearly see LBA's potential - unlike many others!
Think it's been fairly obvious to most of us for a long time that the wheels were getting looser and looser and them eventually starting to actually come off was always a matter of when, not if
Let's hope it proves lucrative for them. As we keep saying Jet2 rarely get stuff wrong and are good at spotting a gap in the market. My only concern is this is potentially a single point of failure if it goes tech with just 1 a/c configured this way. Mind you, once LUFC qualify for Europe it...
Yes will be needed for the 8 daily Emerald ATRs on BOTH BHD and DUB as well as the double daily GR GCI flights!!!!!!!
Seriously though I am sure that forms part of the plan if at all possible to do so. Maybe need to reconfigure the Jet2 check-in and baggage area next for is it stand 2 also
Thanks @pilot_737
Going back to B738s and potential withdrawal, info on the Dff suggests G-GDFD on age grounds and G-DRTJ/P because their leases are not being renewed. Ironically DRTP is apparently one of the younger 2nd hand examples too
I see our esteemed Mayor has recently visited the Wrightbus factory in NI to take a closer look at some of the new Weaver Network buses. Be very interested to know if she flew from/to LBA!
Fits the plan I think we all knew which was 2 to go after this summer and the remaining 5 after next summer.
It's also reported on the Dff that 1 x 738 is supposed to be going at the end of S26 with 2 more potentially on their way before S27.
Still leaves more than enough B738s for LBA in the...
Going to be U2's loss this because it's going to be even harder for them to gain a foothold in the longer run if at some point they do want to return with a base. They clearly have done nothing to help themselves where LBA is concerned
They are still now having to build up a new route from scratch compared to a reasonably well established one that was supposedly doing ok. Still makes absolutely no logical sense to me - still say there is more to this than has been disclosed
Indeed but they also don't have a pax through put of 4.5m - in fact they are not even 25% of that. SOU sounds much more of a risk than LBA to me but I guess we are never going to know the real truth in all this
