T2 is definitely not finished, not sure if the airport have stated it is, or the media outlets are making that assumption but there’s still plenty of work to do both internally and externally on the airfield.
No, the media are getting it wrong as usual! The old T3 check in areas will become part of T3 departures. There is nothing additional of T1 being incorporated into the current T3. That was already done with the current Ryanair baggage drop and security areas which are ex T1.
I know I’ve said this before, but once the cargo sheds have been demolished (which I hope is sooner rather than later!) then surely work can start on a partial extended apron before this realignment of Runger Lane starts? There was talk on the airport’s podcast last year about 20 new stands...
Could well be, I did have a look on Google maps but surprisingly it’s not showing, it still shows a snapshot of it being built.
I walked along Avro Way turning right towards the Romper pub, so must have missed Swissport then.
Thanks again for the info.
Interesting ref the Air France A220 but I certainly understand why MAG don’t want the aircraft at T2, so makes complete sense.
All we need now is for the works on taxiway Delta to start so we can again get back to a dual taxiway system as originally intended.
Interesting and yes, maybe airfield ops have now structured the allocations of stands for specific airlines. I had noticed easyJet using Pier A the majority of the time anyway.
It seems BA and EasyJet use Pier A for their domestic flights (easyJet also has the flights to/from the CTA...
Be interesting to see if tomorrow’s 747 will use a remote stand or contact stand in T2 (if available of course). My bet is on stand 12, so potentially a first at MAN, two Lufthansa 747’s side by side.
Yes, of course. My thinking was of an expected new route by a specific US carrier or a new route by Virgin to the US, but I appreciate that going East is the way forward right now, rather than the West.
Although any type of increase and / or new service is very welcome. We are short of African...
Many thanks as always for your valuable info and feedback @CCGE29.
My reason for the comment ref Swissport and their new residence was that around 6 weeks ago I walked past the cargo / freight sheds along World Way en route to the viewing park and walking past the new Swissport building I...
I appreciate you used the word 'could', but it's almost a month since you post, so I can only assume these interesting couple of weeks didn't materialize or we could be in for a few surprises soon...?
We really need a carrier to take over the lost Delhi and Mumbai services.
I read that Virgin...
Yes, I was also thinking the same recently, quiet on both fronts!
* I don't think either EasyJet or Ryanair have completely released their schedules yet for summer 2027, although the only new route from either I have heard is the EasyJet Southampton service due to commence in December.
*...
To my knowledge, no and no!
I haven't used T2 since June and T3 since July, but I don't think there are any changes.
@CCGE29 do you have any updates?
Thanks.
I echo your sentiments.
After the disappointment of no new routes from AA or United a few weeks back, it would be interesting to see what new routes and / or airlines are coming to MAN in the future. I can only think of east and / or south (Africa maybe?).
The rumour on Wizz Air coming to MAN...
There is a NOTAM stating E9-E10 is closed until 7th August, is this for the extended dual taxiway operation? Therefore the dual taxiway will extend passed pier 2 beyond this date?
