It will be nice to see PIA back, not least just from a sort of selfish "it'll be nice to see another wide-body again".

Aren't the 777 usually filled, with a decent 80-90% pax figure? But as mentioned an A330 might be better for them.

PIA's back to a four times weekly flight it seems (at some point soon). Didn't they used to be 5 weekly before the 777 arrived in 2007?

They've been stuck at 4 weekly for a few years now. I imagine they probably won't get data of how many estimated passengers they could get on a flight to Karachi, but it would be nice to see them branch out. With Shaheen Air starting at MAN, can we see them here?

What state are PIA in at the moment? There doesn't seem to be the same sort of demand for them compared to when they first started (although it's been like this for a decade now I suppose).

It just seems to be four weekly flights at the moment, sometimes three. Stagnation is the word.

I'm flying from MAN using Etihad this summer. First time flying the airline, and first time flying from MAN too. Will be an interesting one.

Were some of them phased out? The 777s were introduced about 10 years ago now so I'd have thought they'd have more. I suppose that's all they have as they wouldn't use the A310 to BHX, nor the 747 (in fact, I don't think they even have any left). If they're due more next year then it'll be...

Equipment? Personally I thought PIA had many 777s in their fleet. What about Karachi? In fact I don't think they've ever done Karachi direct, but aside from that & Lahore I'm sure there are other cities in Pakistan for which there is demand for.

I think in the early noughties, PIA used to operate from LHE, to ISB (or was it directly to BHX?) and onwards to YYZ (2001 I think - on the A310). That lasted a couple of years - so I think it was only stopped because all the transatlantic flights had to move to MAN. I don't think the loads were...

I think PIA should have capitalised on the loss of Airblue with a Lahore flight - my thoughts anyway.

I think operational issue. The last time a PIA A310 visited BHX was in 2007 (it was a few months after when 777's began operating).

I think it's all down to profitability really, their decisions on whether to expand the route or not.

I thought the fourth flight would have been re-instated quite soon after the Hajj season. Is this all PIA are going to offer out of BHX for now?

Does anyone know how PIA has been performing loads-wise since Airblue came along?
