Use this prefix for new threads for Cardiff Airport
I saw this shared on Jerry’s Twitter but thought I’d share here. There will be two flights to Rome Fiumicino on March the 12th and 14th 2027. It’s for the 6 Nations but that would be a good summer seasonal route to get.
Also, Shannon appears on the website destination list but no flights loaded yet. Again I’d assume that’s 6 nations based.

EDIT: Cork has now appeared with flights on the 19th and 21st of Feb.

What's curious about Rome is that it appears on the drop down for Rome but not the other way around. May just be a temporary glitch.

They've added Cork as well. Flights on the 19th and 21st February 2027.

So it looks like at the moment Ryanair will operate an extra 14 departures for the Six Nations from Cardiff
Cork 2 departures (19/2 & 21/2/27)
Dublin 10 departures (15 in total) (18/2-22/2/27)
Rome 2 departures (12/3 & 14/3/27)

With possibly Shannon to be confirmed

Something or nothing but on a recent fly through Cardiff to Lanzarote on Sunday I saw some Ryanair self service machines new and wrapped up by the Vueling area.

Again, make of this what you want to but I think we’re the only non-base operation to have these here. Which is very bizarre.

Apparently there moving areas in the check in hall but… yeah,

If Vueling don't return for Summer 2027 then I make it that Ryanair would need to add another 5 weekly departures to replace that lost capacity. Hopefully we'll see an increase on Alicante with an extra 2 weekly departures, Malaga to go daily and then possibly a new route to say maybe Mallorca say 3 weekly? That would compensate for the loss of Vueling and would put Ryanair near 26 weekly departures.

Dublin 7 weekly (onsale)
Malaga 6 weekly +1
Alicante 4 weekly
Faro 3 weekly
Tenerife 1 weekly (onsale)
Ryanair have added quite a few double daily dates to Dublin throughout the winter. They may well extend on that into the summer.

I can certainly see them increasing Alicante if Vueling don’t return. 5 weekly perhaps?

As for new routes, it’s been a few years so I’m anticipating something, but I said that last year.

New route wise i think Mallorca is the most likely candidate. Would give them all the main sun routes covered then. Though it would be nice if say Cork wasn't just a Six Nations destination. The Dublin extras are in October, maybe if they add to the Dublin base then some extra flights could be possible maybe for the weekend? Hopefully we'll see Alicante get increase in frequency even if it's just for June-September.
Looking at the schedule with the exception of Saturday there's at least 3 daily Ryanair flights. That's the equivalent of a based aircraft. They have installed self service machines as well which apparently they haven't at some of the smaller airports they serve.

I have no knowledge of the matter, however I would make an assumption that the airport has paid for them with agreement from FR - they did the very same when the Flybe machines were installed some years back.

A great addition for CWL nonetheless!

They are much nicer times 🤩 absolutely perfect for all sorts of weekend / midweek trips!

Long may it continue 🇮🇪
They've changed Tenerife on Fridays to 20.15 departure but also on the app some Mondays suggest a flight but nothing loaded.

Would one route class as an announcement though? An announcement suggests something bigger.
Thinking about this —>

After Sean posts the new routes in seperate posts he usually makes a thread post with maps of the new routes. That hasn’t appeared yet implying there’s more to come over the next few days.

Hopefully all signs point to Cardiff

Heads Up!

i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
