I personally wouldn’t pick to go to the Canaries in the summer when rest of europe is available - FUE may do well as a winter only destination.

Not on the flight website when I checked it. Will have another look later. Thanks.
It looks like it comes up on the holiday site only. Always find that a bit annoying.

Interesting Fuerteventura has gone - whats it been replaced with?

Maybe if Vueling don’t return ryanair will jack up Alicante and Malaga.
TUI dropped Faro and Fuerteventura for the summer and added flights to Mallorca, Rhodes and Malaga.

Boards are getting terribly quiet the deeper we get into October 😒 just one TUI tomorrow afternoon. Thank god for FR I say!

It is the nature of the game unfortunately. It is a perfect storm for the aviation industry right now so we should treat any good news positively even if it is few and far between.

The unfortunate consequence of being so seasonal and sadly not having a domestic network anymore

Big remuneration payouts at the airport. But if they need a great team it’s something that will be worth it in the long run hopefully.

But a rise of £120k from the previous financial year is quite steep personally. Also the payout for former CEO Spencer Birns is very high as well.

Make of it what you will!

Well Cardiff Airport is a multi million £ business so if you want the best people then the renumeration needs to be adequate.

I see the airport has updated its website. A bit disappointed that for arrivals and departures it takes you straight to Flightradar24, rather than a list of flights arriving and departing for the week ahead. I also can't find the "latest news" they had on there too. What do others think?

I too felt disappointed by the new website, and thought there had been some kind of fault with the airport website, especially with FR24 on the arrival and departures section.

That's really disappointing as I often relied on the arrivals and departures board for exceptional flights especially around the French rugby airlift as FR24 isn't always reliable and doesn't show flights enough in advance.

Its a rubbish setup. For the general public just wanting to find out ETAs its very complicated. Especially if you're not familiar with FR.

Yeah it also can be inaccurate. Idk why they've changed it? Maybe it's cheaper just to have a link and not have a live arrivals and departures board?

It seems an odd move unless its designed to save costs as the scheduling data FR uses must come from the same place. Is there any other airport thats done this?

The website would never have passed ‘user experience’ in my company. Have they cut costs that much that an employees’ child has done this as part of a school project?
They should revert back to the previous website. It worked.

It looks temporary and the top of the page says they’re doing website enhancements behind the scenes…

I think it’s temporary

Delving further into all the links it does look that way. Everything is a bit more basic and there's no links on the destinations page.

BREAKING NEWS: BRISTOL AIRPORT GRANTED PERMISSION TO FIGHT CAT RULING AT THE COURT OF APPEAL

CAN&I can EXCLUSIVELY reveal that Bristol Airport has dealt a critical blow against the Welsh Government and Cardiff Airport by being granted approval to take its case against the recent Competition Appeal Tribunal judgment to a full hearing at the Court of Appeal next year.

The move means that the Court of Appeal considers Bristol Airport’s case stands a reasonable prospect of success, strong enough to be heard by a separate, independent judicial panel, despite the CAT’s comprehensive and unanimous decision that the subsidy awarded to Cardiff Airport by the Welsh Government was "lawful", was not “unprecedented” and did not “skew competition”.

On Monday 26th October 2026, a single Court of Appeal judge reviewed Bristol Airport’s written application and granted permission for a full oral hearing. For an industry that widely viewed Bristol Airport's grounds as almost legally flat, this is a significant twist in the tale and for many a completely unexpected development.

The decision bypasses any preliminary oral renewal phases. By granting permission "on paper", the judge has pushed the case directly to a full, substantive Court of Appeal hearing before a three-judge panel of Lords and Ladies Justices.

Critically, this is the first landmark challenge to heavily test the UK’s post-Brexit Subsidy Control Act 2022 (SCA 2022).

The important crumb of comfort remains that the single Court of Appeal judge did not grant this hearing because they believed the CAT got the facts wrong. The appeal has been granted because the statutory boundaries of the SCA 2022 remain untested at an appellate level in the view of the Court of Appeal.

The judge has decided that a senior panel of Lords Justices must issue a definitive, binding interpretation on core legal definitions that will dictate how billions of pounds of UK public money are policed going forward.

The hearing is expected to be held during mid 2027.

And the saga continues. The lawyers must be loving it.

Heads Up!

Flying is the second greatest thrill known to man.... Landing is the first!
i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
