And to illustrate the point, (although many will take a more cynical view which is well earned over the years by TUi), today's inbound TUi from Palma diverted to MAN after two missed approaches, the second of which must have seen it almost on rhe runway given how low it was as it passed the...
If he continues to allege publicly that Vince Hodder is in collusion with John Strickland, then he could be in a different kind of trouble, facing a slander case. He often skates on thin ice with his accusations, many of which include Vince Hodder who according to him, is also in bed with the...
I wrote to LBA last week asking if a shuttle bus link was feasible to/from Apperley Bridge pending the arrival of the Parkway Station at the end of the century. (!!) Below is the reply.............and the response is clearly relating to a commercial service, indicating that LBA would not be...
I can feel a question coming on for the next ACC.
Just watching them arriving at MAN from the comfort of my sofa. They are landing but not sure how. Over 20 go arounds and diverts too.
If all those flights are cancelled then most passengers will have gone. It does seem crazy that some contraption doesn't exist that enables refuellers to get up to the wing without climbing ladders that are not only likely to blow over from under them but which could also damage the aircraft...
Its blowing 270 degrees (crosswind), 36 knots gusting 53 knots. So little chance of anything until it calms down or the wind direction changes. Accirding to the weather radar, it will continue gusting in the high 30s until 2300! Not much better at MAN either and it's a crosswind there too.
The proposed Parkway Station is dual purpose, so not a waste of money. It provides a badly needed park and ride facility for Cookridge residents and anyone else living in the NW Leeds area, and takes pressure off Horsforth, which is the 2nd busiest station in Leeds, but doesn't have the parking...
The two EMA diverts came back. The STN divert, a MAX, was delayed. Five minutes ago, at 2245, it made a sort of approach on 32 but flew past me (Cookridge) at 4500', having aborted way before, probably over Headingley. The wind was within limits, maximum gusts were showing 32 knots. Right...
So Mr. Strickland says what we have been saying in here for the past 2 years. It is good to know he agrees, but with ultimate respect to him, you don't need to be an aviation consultant to predict a rocky road for DSA2. It seems highly unlikely his comments will make a difference. The...
3 Ryanair diverts from LBA in quick succession when the wind suddenly increased. Two to EMA, one to STN. Jet2 got in though and the wind seems to have eased a little here at least. The STN and one EMA are scheduled to return.
G-GDFN has been sat idle all afternoon. They could have sent that instead. Obviously FO is trusted. I wonder if the rescue flight will 'divert' to Leeds for operational or weather reasons ? Current NCL weather is far worse than here.
