Leeds Bradford: Jet2 Flights, New Routes & Base Updates

Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
"Climate change presents the biggest long-term risk. Flights are major emitters of greenhouse gases, and likely to come under increasing regulation to mitigate or neutralise the risk. The Mediterranean is also getting hotter. As yet, that does not seem to have diminished our appetite for holidays there, but it may"

Climate change is BS let's face it. I've said it once I'll repeat myself - it's a mechanism to raise tax hidden behind some very clever well thought out propaganda. All devised by the evil UN, the even more evil European Union and the useless puppets in government. It's a new cult. A mental illness.
Looking after the climate and doing all we can is a different matter to climate change BS.

And don't know about anyone but 30-35 degree in the med on a sunbed. Yes please. Away from this horrific sh*t hole of a country. I don't see appetite going away I see, as usual, changes to booking patterns happening. As is always case. Booking patterns change consistently.

Maybe the real threat isn't Climate Change but a useless socialist government after more tax of the working people, companies, aviation to subsidise it's every growing useless civll service wage bill and the largest welfare bill that is out of control and continuing ti grow.

you keep referring to this country as a sh*t hole, but have you ever lived abroad? I’ve lived in Norway, Germany, Austria, Spain and Portugal and spent significant amounts of time in Denmark. I’m pretty well travelled in the rest of the world, and the only other place I would consider living other than here and my native home in Norway would be Portugal.

Try working in 35 degrees, not just the odd day, but for months and trust me you will grow weary of it. Oh and “mañana” is painful and Teutonic efficiency is a myth.

Love Portugal and its people….got my residency there now and my wife and I are going to move there once our old Cockapoo passes.

For those old enough to remember: like the British policeman (Officer Crabtree) posing as a French policeman in ‘Allo, ‘Allo who did his best to speak French.
"I am disgeesed as poloceman so I am oble to move aboot with complate frodom."

I think aviation is 4% of human co2 emissions globally. Bare in mind co2 is already low at 0.04% of all air. Water vapour is also a greenhouse contributor and given we're on a 'blue' planet, its somewhat unavoidable that water will play a larger role than aviation and co2 generally.

I (we) have to be careful discussing the subject here, especially me, as my views are contrary to the so-called "consensus" and as we can't discuss this freely anywhere, therefore it isn't something I want here.

Most if not all the climate change "BS" was implemented by the Conservatives.

Newcastle based Boeing 737-800,G-JZBE has gone tech down route in Palma.

Boeing 737-300, G-GDFO has just been launched from Leeds to Palma as EXS47A as its rescue.
GDFO! …..be lucky if it even gets there…..makes me laugh when Jet2 have to send one of the old birds on a rescue mission.

G-GDFN has been sat idle all afternoon. They could have sent that instead. Obviously FO is trusted. I wonder if the rescue flight will 'divert' to Leeds for operational or weather reasons ? Current NCL weather is far worse than here.

Heads Up!

i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
