Three days and three 747s.
Currently on the ground Silkway 744 and another was in yesterday evening both on the Baku run while Sunday saw a National 744 t/f New York.
Hi Jon I removed my post as it was a bit jumbled up with Air India, however regarding the escalator saga etc.to be honest the departure procedure for people arriving via the monorail with luggage or just need to check in BHX is really poor. In recent times for me BHX has generally gone downhill...
Hi
Yes sorry but I removed my post as you posted as I didn't think mine read right but apparently it did so it seems Air India hanging on by a thread for a while, maybe when 788s become more available who knows because there's a definite market.
The consultation is at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Homer Rd. Solihull 10 am -2.000m.
Open to the public for anyone wanting to drop in for one to one discussion if you wish or just browse the plans,
Senior airport planning engineers and representatives of consultant companies are also involved I...
Just goes to show despite all the kerfuffle and disappointment over Air India and Saudi where the real growth and development of the airport really lies.
From what I've read elsewhere Amritsa is bookable through winter Wed-Fri-Sun with return flights same day. Also suggested passengers were transferred to the BHX route following cancellation of the Gatwick service.
Hanging on by a thread maybe and at least Egypt Air start later this month he...
TRADEAIR A320 9A-BTK due in today from Libjuana departs to Paris CDG also on the freight side is a Silkway 744 arrived early this morning the Baku run, these flights seem to be less frequent now adding to the current widebody gloom for BHX.
The latest rumours re the return in December at 2weekly have been around for a while including being operated by Norse which would be interesting to have a route operated by two basket cases but a PIA 777 is best option in my view as PIA can overly Russian airspace.
Place your bets on it...
2Excell 733 G-SWRD due in lunchtime from Stansted to take the England Womens footy team to Heraklion for their World Cup game tomorrow against Greece departing late afternoon.
I don't think HS2 will effect BHX too much either way ,the NEC on the other hand could see a benefit of increased business users given the direct access by people mover that will be available.
As far as the new master plan I would think they must be in a bit of a holding position at present...
The one other point I meant but forgot to mention is the collapse of first Monarch in 2017 folowed by Thomas Cook which created an opportunity which TUI for whatever reasons pretty much ignored but opened a door that Jet2 charged through.
For obvious reasons ws aviation enthusiasts we think of TUI as an airline but in reality they are and always have been a holiday business that amongst other things formed an airline originally Euravia then Brittania and now its current form as a pan Europe operation to sevice its main business...
Last nights F1 flighs from Baku were a Amelia A319, 2Excell 737 and Turkish 737H also Gulfstram 7T turned up.
I think they used BHX because Luton has some sort of summer ban on night flights for certain types of movements - ad hoc maybe ?
OY' juliet-fox-9 I'll have you know I'm still living as far as I know and Basel was indeed served by Crossair in the 1990'sdirect and by the short lived Duo 😃
BHX is missing more than a few routes it used to have as markets change over time
Ryanair and EasyJet are very much the drivers in BHX's continuing passenger growth in the current difficult times for the industry with every additional airframe adding a potential circa 1,000 seats a day. They contribute way more in capacity terms than say the Egypt Air service due to commence...
A couple of unusual visitors today.
Azerbaijan 788 VP-BBR arrived f/t Baku and a Oman AF C30J MJN291 also turned up from Oman which is night stopping.
