Boris renews calls for Stansted expansion

A LEADING Conservative MP has called on the Government to reconsider expanding Stansted Airport.

Boris Johnson previously tried to convince the Airports Commission to approve the so-called Boris Island plan for a four-runway hub to be built in the Thames Estuary.

No surprise there. With Boris's constituency, as well as those of some other leading Conservative MPS, in the LHR area they are desperate not to upset the many well-heeled supporters of their party who reside locally.

Stansted have applied to Uttlesford District Council to increase their passengers cap to 43 million and aircraft movements of 274,000 as well as construct more taxiways and aircraft stands.
