Birmingham: Airport Cargo Operations

Use this prefix for new threads for Birmingham Airport
I’d also love to know what is in Cavok AN-12 aircraft we see periodically. UR-CBG is about to arrive from Algiers.

GEODIS A333F is currently on it's way back from China via Tashkent.
It is showing due at STN at 08.35 Saturday, on FR24, but suspect it is actually due at BHX as per usual.
few recent ones on Flt Radar have shown on STN arrivals as"Diverted to BHX"
One rumour is that SE England had reached theit allowed quota of Chinese flts so had to come to BHX.
No idea if that's true but may fit ?

I saw this posted on the MAN forum -

-Air China cargo have 2 weekly freighter slots and a hi-low being sourced for flights
Is that the service that was originally thought to be operating from BHX (and later STN)? and if so, could the MAN acquisition of a hi-low loader, have implications for BHX's other 'heavy' freighters (I'm not wanting to start another BHX v MAN war, so sensible replies only please)?

TBF Brum is in an excellent location in the UK to receive cargo and I don't think we should shy away from the notion that we are in competition with MAN because we are.

If they are looking for suggestions about where to locate their hi-loader I'm happy to provide suggestions.

No one is denying that BHX is in competition with MAN, but it is in the manner that it is discussed that can be an issue. Which is why I asked for sensible replies only.

This comes across as antagonistic and is exactly the type of reply we wish to avoid. It certainly doesn't fit with a 'sensible reply'.
Any further antagonistic replies, will be deleted.

Heads Up!

Flying is the second greatest thrill known to man.... Landing is the first!
i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
