There seems to be a steady increase in adhoc freight flights I assume local car supply products, mentioned on the tv news earlier they were saying channel ports are getting very congested

Possibly stockpiling parts as Honda in Swindon has been forced to close due to supply chain issues?

All of the ports are experiencing severe problems due to a mixture of different things. Weather, anticipation of Brexit and issues regarding empty shipping containers have caused several shipping lines to miss out stops in the UK. Uncertainty over a deal is at the forefront of the main players which does not help. It has been very interesting to see the different freighter operations all of a sudden making regular trips into BHX.

I can see that the uncertainty will only cause more and more companies to possibly regret using JIT (just in time) arrangements for their supply chain.

Having read that approximately 30% of Airline services are not operating still any charter companies will be rubbing their hands with the increase in business. It does not help the situation when shipping lines have increased their rates by so much whilst not being able to offer a service which compares to what is being charged for. Increased transit times and service issues are very difficult to explain to clients when the prices have risen as much as they have.

Personally I can see a very rough couple of months ahead in the Forwarding industry.

Twice daily Jota BAe 146 to/from Ostend to support the automotive supply chains.

It’s gone a lot quieter for cargo flights recently but I noticed today the ATP is positioning in to operate the ‘newspaper run’ tomorrow to IOM, I’ve not noticed this operate for a while

I have noticed we have a Bin air SWM operating for a couple of weeks now Bin101/102 from FRA & onto DUB this is in addition to the S340 & Atr
are they all operating for same company?

Its gonna get quieter soon with no 757.
Yes indeed. It's been reported on the Manchester Airport - General Thread that Fedex are pulling out of there and, since it's a shared flight, then presumably the BHX flight is also canned. 😢

thats a kick in the nads for us if they do pull fedex from brum

Quite a blow if that is going. It must have been our longest lasting regular cargo service. Something like 15 years to my knowledge.

Now you mention it, I remember that service too. Was there not also a regular B727 cargo service? Sabre springs to mind, but I may be confusing that with a pax operator.

It's not very well known but DHL operated a flight BHX-SEN that went on to BRU in the 1980s

Will the FedEx depot remain at BHX? I've used it many times in the past and it will be sad to see it go.

G-JMCL 737 is due in from Vilnius later today (according to fr24) it’s a regular visitor but has not been here this year & I assume it’s been away for maintenance
also I notice that fr24 has not been showing the zimex ATR freight flights recently

Heads Up!

i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
