Discussions relating to London Gatwick Airport
Royal Brunei Airlines have a short series of flights once per week in July and August, could this be a prelude to a more permanent service?

London Gatwick grows African connectivity with only UK to Uganda service

The direct link to Entebbe is expected to boost trade, tourism and investment between the UK and Uganda. In 2024, total UK trade with Uganda was valued at £606m, with UK exports to Uganda totalling £483m. With more than 200,000 Ugandans residing in the UK, the new service is poised to meet the growing demand for direct travel options, fostering closer ties between the two nations.

I was thinking more of people connecting to Condors long haul network. They normally have quite good prices.
Yep it is it's awful.

Well they are a leisure airline and London is a big city break destination.

Maybe. I mean i know there could be some transfer traffic, but id think very few point to point London to Paris these days. They could have gone to Liverpool instead 😁
Yeah London-Paris point to point is more satisfied by the train these days but from large parts of South East England getting to an airport could be just as good an option than having to get into London for the train.

Beijing Capital airlines are starting flights to Qingdao as a 1 weekly summer seasonal service

Air Arabia are starting 2 daily flights to Sharjah in June:

Pegasus Airlines is launching a daily Istanbul service, making them the ninth brand-new airline to set up at Gatwick this summer (joining Jet2, AirAsia X, Condor, and others). It pushes London-Istanbul capacity to a massive 27 flights a day across all airports.

Can Gatwick comfortably sustain this level of rapid short-haul airline diversity, or are we heading toward a brutal price war where someone blinks first?

Heads Up!

i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
