Birmingham: New Route Development & Rumours

Use this prefix for new threads for Birmingham Airport

And who'd have guessed, this was actually BHX!

So for Summer 2027, BHX will be welcoming 3 NEW (long-haul?) Airlines to our departure board which is the first time in a long time we've been able to say that!
  • Air Transat
  • Egyptair
  • Pakistan International
The loss of SV is a hit (though they barely operated even this summer) and it seems AI will have a smaller presence at BHX too, BUT even with the uncertain economic/political outlook atm, it seems BHX have been working hard to attract new carriers.

Great news!

Any predictions for next new airlines???

Mine is Icelandair or Ajet

Icelandair-Reykjavik has on average 61 passengers daily 30 passengers in 30 passengers out which equivalents to 210 passengers per week

You could easily do a 2/3 weekly service,Good for connections for New York,Boston, and Seattle.

Next airline

RAM-Royal air Maroc

Ajet airlines

Could give competition to Sun express

Great shout - Icelandair & it would be fantastic but unfortunately I can’t see that happening after what happened last time & current Trump issues

Yes they do. I said traditionally: TK is a recent (re)arrival at STN on the IST route. It is the same issue as EK v. FDB. Can you maintain your higher fare customers if you introduce a low cost alternative? In the case of LON the demand is huge so you can. In the regions, less so.

Heads Up!

Flying is the second greatest thrill known to man.... Landing is the first!
i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
