Cardiff: Weather & Technical Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

Use this prefix for new threads for Cardiff Airport
Looking at FR24 for yesterday and it looks like there was a lot of delays between an hour and and 2 and a half hours for some flights but it does look like nothing was cancelled.

Yep I was on one of those! BE4584 a near 3 hr delay ☹️ but we did get a free slice of pizza

Did they say why there was a delay? I hope it was a nice pizza!

Apparently at Jersey they took an hour and half to turn them round then consequently got a slot restriction at cwl we got back into Cardiff bout 11ish so a bit of a long day for the crew!

MT924 CWL-DLM has a pretty big delay on it of 3 hours. It looks like the aircraft YL-LCS was delayed by 1 and a half coming back from it's morning Zankynthos flight.

Looks like flights cancelled has hit flybe today. Both rotations from Belfast city and 1 rotation from Glasgow cancelled today.I have noticed over the last few days flybe has cancelled various rotations.

Flybe cancellations
Looks like one of the E195s possibly went tech this morning this led to the cancellation of the 06.15 Belfast City, the 10.45 Glasgow and the 19.50 Dublin departure's. The 07.00 Dublin departed at 08.30 and the 14.05 Verona departed at 15.30. It's also worth noting that tomorrow's 06.15 Belfast City departure is cancelled.
In the last 7 days there have been no Flybe cancellations, a few late departing flights yes. The only Flybe franchise flights to be cancelled were by Eastern Airways.

The BE4557 departed for Belfast city but the return BE4558 was cancelled.A E170operated this service, aircraft reg was G FBJC. For the BFS return to be cancelled im wondering if that went tech.

Flybe with a few problems again today Thursday.
The be4551 to Bfs city cancelled. The BE4552 operated with the E170 .The E170 rotation from BFS city yesterday afternoon was cancelled so im wondering it went techin BFS.
The BE4525 to Dublin cancelled with the return BE4526 cancelled today Thursday.
Also I see the thursday afternoon rotation to Valley cancelled.
It makes you wonder why so many flight rotations cancelled from just about every airport, either aircrafts are getting more tech issues or less pax to fill them.

Weather, tech, slot problems or crewing problems we'll probably not find out. Unfortunately people do get inconvienced but that is possible with all forms of transport and to be fair to Flybe it doesn't happen day in day out though for Eastern it does seem to be more regular. As for lax of passengers i doubt it would be that as the routes that were cancelled are pretty popular. Belfast, Dublin and Anglesey aren't struggling from what i can see.

I see this afternoons Dub flight cancelled now.
Just makes you wonder what is going on. It would be nice to find out but I don't think we ever will.

Tomorrow's Flybe 10.05 departure to Milan MXP has been cancelled due to industrial action in Italy.

A few delays and cancellations today.
This morning's 06.15 Belfast City didn't depart till 07.50 making the Paris CDG 09.45 departure late at 11.15 and Munich which was departing at 14.00 didn't depart until 17.15, the Dublin 19.45 departure has been cancelled.
Freebird Antalya which was supposed to arrive at 19.25 is delayed till 20.35 with a delayed departure of 22.00.
Eastern Airways 07.35 to Anglesey didn't depart until 13.00 after a replacement aircraft arrived from Humberside.

In recent days there has been a lot of discussion in the BRS threads about flight cancellations and delays which is reportedly significantly due to ATC slot restrictions as a result of industrial action in France, Italy and Greece. Do we know if the recent cancellations and delays at CWL are for similar reasons?

I think there have been a few late slightly delayed flights but generally CWL's med ones haven't done to bad, the other delays have been with Flybe and apart from the Italy ATC ones which Milan MXP was cancelled i can only guess Flybe's delays are due to either aircraft going tech or weather.
I have noticed a few mornings the first wave of flights does come up slightly delayed by like 15, 20 or 30 mins but i can only guess that is operational and maybe down to aircraft waiting for pushback or ATC clearance maybe.

Heads Up!

Flying is the second greatest thrill known to man.... Landing is the first!
i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
