Why would they need to divert?
Landed at LBA 15 minutes late having departed KRK 30 late.
The tower were giving cloud broken at 100' overcast at 200', although the viz was 2000mAt 0706:
LDG IN LBA IMPOSSIBLE DUE TO WX
From ACARS
Looking at the METARS for that time, I have no idea.
Sounds like ops. told them to stop messing about and get it on the ground!!! 2000m with a 200ft overcast and wind down the slot is certainly not 'impossible'!The tower were giving cloud broken at 100' overcast at 200', although the viz was 2000m
Also the wind was 130 ad 14 knots so too much for CAT3 onto 32.
He landed no problem at 14 and turned straight onto delta taxiway without a backtrack
Wizz Air increasing Leeds -Bucharest service from 3x to 4x weekly, with additional Airbus A321Neo Tuesday flight operating from January 23rd to March 12th 2024
WMT3015 = OTP 17:15 - LBA 19:00 / WMT3016 = LBA 19:35 - OTP 01:00
On the same dates it worth noting the Leeds - Cluj Napoca Airbus A320 service is switching days from the existing Mon & Fri to Tue & Sat.
Tuesday & Saturdays
WMT3313 = CLJ 06:05 - LBA 07:20 / WMT3314 = LBA 07:55 - OTP 12:50
Looks like it’s the same with the Gdańsk route as the last flight shows on the 19th January and returns again on the 15th March.Something strange happening with the Wizz Air website booking engine as it looks like the Leeds - Katowice route is been reloaded back up for January to end march 2024.
I wonder if they are doing a update to both the winter & summer 2024 flight schedules to take in account the down time for aircraft. Hence why all theses changes have started to randomly appear over the past few days. If so I'ld say give it a few days to settle down.
That's reassuring.Jus read an article confirming the routes temporarily suspended by Wizz due to aircraft shortages. Katowice to Leeds is on the list and is shown as suspended until 14th March 2024.
It's a shame that they are having to make these cuts. Their passenger figures increased by 32.1% in 2023 compared to 2022. Likely to be back to square one for 2024..Just read an article confirming the routes temporarily suspended by Wizz due to aircraft shortages. Katowice to Leeds is on the list and is shown as suspended until 14th March 2024.
Yes, overall.Is that their pax figures overall? I presume can’t just be LBA as only appeared late October? Hopefully yield has also increased!

If you see it you see it ! otherwise you go around.Sounds like ops. told them to stop messing about and get it on the ground!!! 2000m with a 200ft overcast and wind down the slot is certainly not 'impossible'!
Is Gdansk suspended? It's still operating. If it is, when from? The other route that stopped was Wroclaw wasn't it? That one isn't coming back any time soon..Full list of suspended Wizz Air routes can be found here.
Leeds/Bradford - Katowice route is listed, But it surprising that the Leeds/Bradford - Gdansk route suspension isn't listed.

Warning: Wizz Air temporarily suspends several flights – LIST
In certain cases, the suspension of Wizz Air flights means the earlier conclusion of service for the winter season.dailynewshungary.com
