It’s increased up to 10K with the addition of advertising!

With SV carrying 7,439 Pax in Aug'24 and circa 6,820 Pax in Aug'23, that's an increase of only 9%. This is definitely not to be sniffed at no where near the growth i think some of us had hoped for given the 30%+ increase in capacity offered! This is why the LF were pretty low...

That said, whilst official figs are yet to be released for Sept'24, SV look to have carried nearly the exact same amount of pax as they did in Aug'24, even with them reducing back to 3x flights a week! LF figs are therefore up significantly in Sept!

Curious as to why the 78X turns so regularly then as the load factors don’t seem to suggest the need for it? Does the 78X carry more belly freight?

in fairness the 78X in Sept was very much needed pax wise....

It is for freight sometimes. But it is sometimes also because of rather chaotic aircraft scheduling.

Saudias aircraft scheduling is by far the most chaotic and worst out there, aircraft changes every few seconds until an actual plane lands at destination

Saudi continue to impress with the 78X more or less full both ways Sunday
About they increased the frequency.
They should be, I’ve read they are going to go ahead with the previous Saturday service. I’m not sure why it’s not announced yet or it’s been scrapped

That is around the standard fare for business class UK-JED. Other points in UK are showing even higher fares for e.g. March. It is indeed silly money.

Summer is probably not the best time to travel as it is too hot 50C

Saudia load factors so far this year:-

January 58%
February 68%
March 59%
April 59%
May 39%
June 43%
July 55%
August 68%
September 87%
October 79%

Average for the year 57%

wouldn't really say that the aircraft are rammed based on this, nothing about these load factors currently to persuade them to increase flights or put on larger aircraft (if they had any spare!)

November 92%

Loads since August....

Aug: 68% (4x weekly rather than 3x weekly)
Sept: 87%
Oct: 81%
Nov: 92%
Dec: 86-88% so far but will wait till official figs released.
Loads are booming right now, if this is the case, the proposed extra Saturday service may very well return

Heads Up!

i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
