Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
Ryanair Boeing 737 Max 8-200 EI-IJJ is enroute from Palma de Mallorca and will make her first LBA visit in an hour, subject to any low visibility delays.

With the SunExpress movement, two new Max appearances in a morning!

Ryanair Boeing 737 Max 8-200 EI-IJM, which was only delivered from the manufacturer six days ago, is just departing from Dublin and will soon make her first LBA visit.

SunExpress Boeing 737-800 TC-SOV is enroute from Antalya and will make her first LBA visit later this morning.

Only 36 arrivals today at LBA compared to 50 or so for LPL & NCL. Not too good for a summer Weds. On different note I see that Stansted is now busier than Manchester on most days.

I’m sure if you do a recount on first Wednesday of June you’ll be surprised with the change.

According to Flight Radar, LBA has 338 scheduled departures over the next 7 days. LPL and NCL both have 400. Which means those airports are around 18% busier. None of which is a massive surprise because the forecast passenger numbers at LPL/NCL are on track to be about 18% higher

And flight radar shows more departures scheduled at MAN than STN in the next week. 1937 vs 1875. Heathrow has 4,722 meaning it is only handling a couple of hundred less than MAN, STN, LBA, NCL and LPL combined !

51 dep at LBA and 56 from LPL tomorrow, pretty good for LBA, an airport with a not fit for purpose terminal and no infrastructure, once the 2 year terminal expansion and improvements have been completed im sure we will overtake the competition!

We have some big Increases by both Jet2 & Ryanair, latter due to our 3rd based aircraft returning.
We also see TUI, Wizz, Sun Express all adding extra flights along with the return of Freebird, Aurigny & Balkan.

It all adds up to quiet a substantial increase.

Heads Up!

Flying is the second greatest thrill known to man.... Landing is the first!
i must be a lunatic. Friday 25th Sept will see me doing a daytrip that involves me leaving my flat in Manchester at 1am and not getting back home until after midnight. All because I'm doing a Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands trip.... out of Glasgow
For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
